Treatment to soften lines and wrinkles
At Dr Christine Medical Aesthetics in Tunbridge Wells, I offer individual consultations to assess your concerns about facial lines and wrinkles and discuss suitable treatment options.
Every face is different. During your consultation, I will assess your facial anatomy, medical history, expectations and suitability before explaining the options available, including their potential benefits, limitations and risks.
No treatment is guaranteed or appropriate for everyone. Treatment will only be considered where clinically appropriate, following an individual assessment and informed consent.

How does it work?
Anti-wrinkle injections contain botulinum toxin which can be used to block chemical messages from the nerve to the muscle, allowing the muscle to stay in its resting state for a period of 8 to 12 weeks on average.
This may be only a partial reduction in movement allowing some remaining movement or a full block in which case there is very little remaining muscle movement in the area-this depends on the amount administered and the location of the product placement. Treatment is tailored to your requirement.
Does it hurt?
A very fine needle is used and generally this treatment is well tolerated.
Which areas can be treated?
Injections can be used to soften frown lines (often referred to as "number 11 lines"), crows feet around the eyes and forehead lines. Successful treatment may not cause the expression lines to disappear completely but may soften them. It is not suitable for lines that are present without facial expression (static lines).
Am I suitable for treatment?
Treatment is not suitable if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Dr.Christine will discuss whether this treatment is suitable for your concerns at your initial consultation.
