What is Medical Microneedling?

What can be treated?

Wrinkles, fine lines, skin laxity, some pigmentation and acne scars may be softened and SkinPen is also great to revive dull tired skin. SkinPen can be used to treat the face, neck, décolletage and the backs of the hands.

What does the procedure involve?

Medical Microneedling using SkinPen is safe for all skin types. A numbing cream is applied for your comfort and the procedure takes around 45 minutes.

How many treatments will I need?

Although you will gain benefit after a single treatment, a course of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.

Is there any downtime?

After treatment your skin will feel hot and appear red for at least 24 hours and you may experience some skin peeling over the first few days but this will subside and leave you with more youthful glowing skin. You should keep the skin clean and avoid make-up for at least 24 hours after treatment. Allow 48 hours for recovery. Do not use retinol skincare products for a week before your treatment and for a week after too.

How long to results last?

Results will be seen within a few days but your skin will continue to improve over the following few months as the collagen is stimulated and the benefits will last up to a year.

Am I suitable for treatment?

SkinPen is not suitable if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. A detailed medical history will be taken to discuss your skincare concerns and ensure that you are suitable for SkinPen.
