Dr Christine Medical Aesthetics Sunekos

What is Sunekos?

Sunekos is an injectable treatment that's entirely different to filler treatment. This treatment uses a patented formula which combines hyaluronic acid with amino acids (the essential building blocks of elastin and collagen) to regenerate the Extra Cellular Matrix of the skin. The result is plumper skin which is deeply hydrated. The treatment reduces the appearance of the wrinkles by boosting natural Elastin and Collagen production deep inside your skin.

How does it work?

Sunekos provides deep hydration to improve hydration, elasticity, and smoothing of superficial wrinkles. Effectively, it works from the inside out, helping to restore the support structures of the skin.

How many treatments are required?

For best results most patients will need 2 to 3 separate treatments spaced 2 to 3 weeks apart.

How long does Sunekos last?

Sunekos lasts approximately 6 to 12 months.

If you choose not to maintain the results with further treatment, your skin will return to its pre-treatment state over time. Generally, patients report an overall improvement in skin hydration and softening of fine lines and wrinkles.

Am I suitable for treatment?

Treatment is not recommended if:

  • You are suffering from any skin infection in or near the treatment area or are unwell in any way (even a cold).

  • You are taking any medicines which affect bleeding, such as aspirin or warfarin.

  • You are currently or have recently completed a course of Roacutane (acne treatment) in the last 18 months

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Considerations when choosing your appointment for treatment:

There is always a risk of bruising, so please ensure that you do not have any important special events such as holidays, weddings and parties in the week or so after your treatment.

Bruising can last up to 2 weeks. Please avoid any dental treatments, facials, massage and other treatments for at least 2 weeks after treatment.

Preparation before Sunekos Treatment

Please avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, omega fish oil, vitamins C and E, Gingko Biloba and St John’s Wort for at least 24 hours before and for a few days after your appointment, as they can all increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. Purchase arnica tablets and cream which may help to reduce any bruising.

Please come as ‘fresh faced’ as possible with no make-up.

What to expect during your Sunekos treatment?

The full procedure can take 30 minutes. Numbing cream will be applied for around 20 minutes or you may be provided with numbing cream to apply 20 minutes before your appointment. The results continue to improve over the next few weeks with best results seen at 3 months after treatment.
