Cheek Enhancement
What is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar molecule that attracts water to provide volume and hydration.
Dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Teosyal, and Belotero contain a sterile hyaluronic acid gel that has been cross-linked to make it last longer.
What can cheek filler be used to treat?
With ageing, volume in the cheek area is lost and this can often lead to a tired look, sagging and a heavy nose to mouth line (nasolabial fold). Dermal filler can be used to enhance the cheeks by replacing lost volume and creating a little lift to rejuvenate the face. Cheek filler is often the starting point of the 8 point lift.
Does it hurt?
Dr Christine only uses dermal fillers that also contain a local anaesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable.
When will I see the results?
The results of cheek enhancement will be immediate. The cheeks will appear a little swollen straight after the procedure but this swelling will reduce over the following few days and the final result will be evident in 2 to 3 weeks after your treatment.
How long will it last?
Dermal filler treatment of the cheeks usually lasts around 12 to 18 months.
Is it safe?
Dermal fillers are safe, but not risk free. Dr.Christine will discuss all the risks and benefits with you at your consultation.
Am I suitable for treatment?
Dermal fillers are not suitable if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. A detailed medical history wil be taken to ensure that you do not have any conditions which might increase the risk of unwanted side effects. The consultation is also important to discuss your expectations and whether or not this treatment is able to meet them.
When can I book my appointment?
All new patients will need an initial consultation and this can be booked online. When choosing your treatment appointment, please ensure that you have no important social events in the 2 weeks after your treatment and will not be travelling abroad for 2 weeks after your treatment. In addition please ensure that you booke your appointment a month before or a month after your Covid-19 vaccination.
