Why do regenerative treatments continue to rise?

Regenerative treatments continue to rise because they offer a more holistic and natural approach to rejuvenation, anti-ageing and overall wellness. Regenerative medicine focuses on harnessing the body's natural ability to heal and regenerate tissues, rather than relying on invasive procedures. By utilising the body's own resources, regenerative treatments generally have a lower risk of complications or adverse reactions compared to surgical procedures or the use of synthetic substances. Most patients now seek long-lasting and subtle enhancements that promote overall skin health and vitality.

Which regenerative treatments are most effective?

Regenerative medicine continues to offer innovative solutions that extend beyond cosmetic enhancements alone. Continuous research into this field has led to more effective and targeted treatments for subtle and natural results.

  • Polynucleotides:

Polynucleotides have been around for 20 years as a well established treatment to aid tissue repair following surgery or a traumatic injury. However the power of polynucleotides has now been harnessed to regenerate and repair the skin in aesthetic medicine. Derived from the sperm of salmon or trout, Polynucleotides are fragments of DNA which can rejuvenate the skin due to their ability to stimulate fibroblasts and positively influence the production of collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid and healthy new micro-blood vessels. They are a popular treatment to help regenerate the delicate eye area but can be used all over the face and body.

  • Profhilo:

Profhilo is an award-winning injectable skin booster consisting of high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid which is unique because it flows under the skin, so it distributes to all areas to deeply hydrate and subtly plump the skin, leading to a healthy glow. In addition, it also bioremodels the skin, stimulating collagen production in the skin leading to further improvement in skin quality, elasticity and firmness. It is great for improving skin quality on the face, neck, decolletage, backs of hands and upper arms.

  • Profhilo Structura:

Profhilo Structura contains the same unique hyaluronic acid as Profhilo but in a more concentrated form that is injected just a little deeper into the skin to regenerate superficial facial fat, restoring volume and firmness. This fat pad restoration provides a lifting effect, making your face look more subtly structured and youthful. By a process called bio-remodelling, Profhilo Structura also stimulates collagen production in the overlying skin, leading to an improvement in skin quality too with greater skin hydration and plumpness, and a reduction in fine lines.

  • RF Microneedling:

Radiofrequency Microneedling is an advanced treatment combining both medical microneedling and radiofrequency to rejuvenate the skin by stimulating the body’s natural healing process to encourage collagen production of the dermis resulting in anti-ageing and skin tightening. The radio-frequency energy is delivered through gold plated insulated needles allowing precise delivery to the dermis, heating the collagen fibres to 55°C-65°C. This causes contraction and trauma to the tissue and stimulates fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin which strengthens and tightens the skin. With minimal downtime, this is a popular treatment with all my patients to regenerate the skin and soften fine lines and wrinkles.

It is important to note that combination treatments yield the best results as they provide a more holistic and comprehensive approach to skin rejuvenation as they can address multiple concerns and promote long-term skin health.
